The Old Trafford legend wants Sancho to continue his development in the Bundesliga after an impressive 2018/19 campaign – where he scored 12 goals and contributed 14 assists. Burnley have made Stoke defender Erik Pieters their first signing of the summer. Pieters has signed a two-year deal with a further 12-month option and joined up with Sean Dyche's squad on their pre-season training trip to Portugal. The 30-year-old made over 200 appearances for Stoke after joining from PSV Eindhoven in 2013, but fell out of favour in the Potteries last season and ended the campaign on loan in France with Amiens.
       INEC claims ownership of seized ballot boxes The  police in Ogun State have said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed its ownership of the  3,600 ballot boxes that were intercepted at the Odogbolu (Ogun State) stretch of the Lagos-Ore Expressway. This followed a stop-and-search operation by soldiers from the 35 Artillery Army Brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta. It was gathered that the truck was coming from Lagos and taking the boxes to Akwa -Ibom State .. It was learnt that when the soldiers could not be convinced about the legality of the boxes, the driver was arrested and taken to Igbeba (Ijebu-Ode) Area Command. Police spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the ballot boxes were in police custody and “meant” for INEC Office, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. ‘Jonathan’ll use Amasieamaka stadium for his rally’

Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate Nyesom Ezenwo Wike insisted yesterday that the party’s presidential campaign rally will hold at the Amasiemaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, the state capital, on January 28. He said the stadium belongs to the Rivers people and President Goodluck Jonathan would use it for his rally. The former minister of state for Education spoke in Port Harcourt at a meeting with Goodluck to Goodluck Political pressure group. Boko Haram unrest: Cameroon air strikes on Nigerian militants

                                                                   Cameroon has been strengthening its troop presence along the border with Nigeria Cameroon has carried out its first air strikes against militant Islamist group Boko Haram, after it overran a military base and attacked five villages, officials have said. However, Emmanuel’s dream was cut short on February 22, 2014 after a life-changing encounter with a naval rating, Warrant officer Unaji Enejor, in the Kirikiri area of Lagos State.
