US To Allocate N81 Billion, 3000 Troops To Fight Ebola The US has announced plans to increase its contribution to the fight against Ebola in Africa The United States of America has upped the ante against the Ebola outbreak as it is sending 3000 troops to West Africa to contribute to efforts to halt the spread of the deadly disease. The US troops will be stationed in Monrovia , the capital of disease-ravaged Liberia . The development was disclosed by the White House on Tuesday, September 16, 2014  in a press statement which read: The United States will leverage the unique capabilities of the U.S. military and broader uniformed services to help bring the epidemic under control. Ebola: Pres. Jonathan Condemns Discrimination Against Nigerians Abuja (NAN) – President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday condemned the stigmatization of Nigerians by some countries over recent cases of Ebola virus in the country. Jonathan made this known at a meeting with David Navarro, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General on Ebola, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. This is contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati. The president, according to the statement, decried discriminatory actions by some countries against Nigeria, including the incident which forced Nigeria’s team to the Youth Olympics in China to abandon its participation. He said that there was no justification for such stigmatization of Nigerians since the Ebola Virus had been effectively contained in the country and never attained epidemic level. Federal Government set to ban 'Ponmo'?!!!!!!!.

Looks like it. According to a Vanguard report, the Federal Government is looking at banning the sale and consumption of Ponmo. Find the report below... This indication emerged Tuesday when the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina called for competent regulations that would check the consumption and sale of the product. If this is achieved, he noted that livestock farmers would stand good chances of making high dollar return if the hides and skins (Ponmo) are tanned into leather. The minister who was represented at the occasion by the Director, Animal Production and Husbandry in the Ministry, Dr. Ademola Raji, said, "I also commend NIAS for its advocacy and public enlightenment programs on Radio and Television that promote value addition in Livestock, as against sale and consumption of primary products alone, particularly with the issue of curtailing the widespread consumption of hides and skins as Kpomo which ought to be tanned into leather for...
