The Blues announced last week that Zola had left the club , losing his role as assistant manager after fellow Italian  Sarri was appointed the new manager of Juventus. Burnley have made Stoke defender Erik Pieters their first signing of the summer. Pieters has signed a two-year deal with a further 12-month option and joined up with Sean Dyche's squad on their pre-season training trip to Portugal. The 30-year-old made over 200 appearances for Stoke after joining from PSV Eindhoven in 2013, but fell out of favour in the Potteries last season and ended the campaign on loan in France with Amiens.
